Good News!

On Wednesday afternoon, we received a call from the Rugrat's geneticist. Her second genetic test results were in.

She does NOT have the mutation for WAGR's syndrome. That means she is NOT at risk for the Wilm's tumor! No more kidney scans. No more worries about developing a tumor.

They did find the mutation for her aniridia, which was good news. That explains that the aniridia was genetic and did not have another cause (which we would have had to start looking for if it wasn't genetic). As she said, usually they don't want to find any mutations but this was one that they were hoping to see.

Those two things combined are very good news! And we got to celebrate one more reason to be thankful on Thanksgiving.

And I'm sure Rugrat won't mind missing out on all those extra doctor visits either.
