We got home from Arkansas as the first moments of Monday arrived. The wedding went well and I'll share some about that tomorrow.
In traveling, we had been concerned about a winter storm that was supposed to come through Arkansas just about the time we got there. One had dumped snow on them a few days prior. Well, that storm decided to go south of them so no snow. However, there was still enough snow hanging onto my mother's yard that the kids got to play with it about a half an hour. Not enough for a snowman but enough to bean each other a few times.
But they really wanted to see it coming down. That's the refrain every winter. "I wish it would snow!"
On Friday, while we were in Arkansas, South Carolina got its first snowfall in a decade. Literally. It was the first snow on the ground in 10 years. We had been here a few months when the last one happened but neither child was old enough to remember it. So it finally returns and we are gone.
So we got to see pics of our friends on Facebook making snowmen and standing in it. But not us.
When we got back that night, we thought maybe there'll be some left to at least play in. Well, there was.
Lucky us.
As we hit Alabama returning home, my brother called and informed me we had left just in time. It was snowing a blizzard there.
