So. Yes. I am alive.
The last three days have been something. We have been working to get Dude to the semester mark on his school work.
And got there.
Chick had semester finals on all three days. Plus spent the weekend getting any and all work caught up since her late date was Sunday at midnight.
It's done.
Over the weekend, we realized that Dude had about 75 percent of his gifts still to buy. Yikes! I convinced him to take the morning on Monday to get it done and just do a light school day. We left about 9:30 or 10:00 that morning and returned at 2:00 with only one to buy left (and it could be had from a local store).
So, now he's done.
We are officially changing our insurance over to a new company as of January 1st. Pro: they will cover Rugrat's eye exams under anesthesia. She has to be checked for glaucoma twice a year. The last one ran about $3000 and we paid a third after it cleaned out our health account which meant we pretty much had only preventative health care the rest of the year. And dental (that I discovered late and had not yet found a new dentist). Con: if the new one covers dental, it isn't much.
So, I was hoping for a cancellation at the dental office I had set up appointments with that would allow us to get our cleanings done this year under our current insurance. Monday afternoon they called and worked four of us in (everyone except Hubby). Two in the morning and two in the afternoon.
PLUS -- Rugrat actually let him examine or "count" her teeth. Willingly. Like on her own. I was standing there with my mouth open. I couldn't believe it! We had planned to come back to the health account once she was a little more cooperative and it looks like that might not take forever after all. Yayyyyy!
So that's done.
And now it's Wednesday evening. School is done. Dentist is done. Bible class is done. Shopping is done. Wrapping is done. And all I have to do now is wait.
And enjoy!
