Visitors

Sunday evening, my sister-in-law and nephew (son of the other sister-in-law) came to visit for a day or two. They headed home this morning. We enjoyed getting to hang out around town but it was even more enjoyable to sit and visit in the evening.

Which is not to say that we didn't go anywhere. Monday morning, before the temperature got too bad, we headed to the Oklahoma City bombing memorial.

We got to drive around a little and see downtown since that's where it's located. Afterwards, we hit Steak and Shake for some lunch, then headed home for some down time (in cool air) while Rugrat had her nap -- or rather didn't since she was much too excited about having her aunt and cousin here.

Later we convinced Chick to babysit while Hubby, Sister-in-law, and I went to a showing of the new Dark Knight movie. We grabbed a pizza for dinner on our way home and hung out the rest of the evening.

On Tuesday, we made plans with my brother-in-law for the evening (who lives nearby) and then headed out to initiate Rugrat to a new experience.

Recently, a family purchased and renovated our little hometown bowling alley but we had not yet gotten to check it out. We arrived about an hour after they opened that day so we were the only ones there except for the friendly owners.

No one thought to grab the camera from my hands and take a picture of me (ha ha). We had purchased the alley for one hour and that's just about what it took for all 6 of us to bowl one game. Perfection.

At first, Rugrat was a little flummoxed by the point of all this but it didn't take long until she was asking if it was her turn again.

She had a 6 pound ball and the smallest shoes they rented (size 9's). It took her a couple of stumbles but she finally figured out where the step was to get up to the alley.

The first time she watched her ball roll down the alley, she turned to me and told me her ball was all gone. We explained that she needed to wait (hands back) until it came back.

She had it down by the time we left. Her turn was after Baba's and she got to roll the ball twice.

She was actually sad when we left and assured herself by asking that we would come back later.

Everyone else enjoyed themselves too but I didn't press my luck taking more pictures of them than I did. :)

We had a quick visit and dinner at my brother-in-law's house until we had to leave for Dude's Scout Court of Honor. Fortunately, our visitors got to stay and chat since his wife was willing to bring them back to our house later in the evening.

I loved having them here. I wish the others had been able to come too. Thankfully, we're close enough now that maybe there will be another chance.
