2020 may have stunk in other ways so far but our little apple trees tried to make it all better this year. This was our final harvest for the year. We had mainly been just picking up what got knocked off by the wind or rain at first. Then Hubby went out and picked several in a 5 gallon bucket. We went out and picked more here and there until I finally grabbed a laundry basket and just went to town.
Between picking up the falls, passing some to my Mom's horses, giving away a little, and what we picked, Hubby estimates that we probably got about 100 pounds of apples from our trees this year. Pretty astounding considering that the Anna tree is only about a foot taller than I am and the Granny Smith isn't much more than that (although it is quite a bit bigger around with all the branches).
I can believe it is 100 pounds worth. I feel like I will be canning apples until the end of the year. This is the first year in a while that I've actually had to go buy more jars.
So, as a heads up, if the world as we know it ends, come by my house. There'll be plenty of applesauce there for you. :)
