Summer Sew #3

I had intended to make a pair of shorts next for Rugrat but I was having a hard time choosing the fabric and finding enough in my stash to make them.

So, instead, I made her another skirt with a patriotic fabric I had gotten. She is crazy about anything red, white, and blue -- especially when it is on clothing she can wear. When I picked up this fabric, I knew she'd love it but I had in mind a play dress/summer dress for it.

Well, she had gotten much too tall for that so I went with a skirt. And since I'm making it, it will be both long enough and small enough in the waist for her. Hey, hey. It's a win.

Then, I found something in my fabric stash that I thought might make some light shorts that would work well. I didn't quite have enough for the waistband so I just used some white. As it turned out, that worked fairly well.

And Rugrat likes the breezy, cool feel of them. I just think they're cute.

And with that the summer sew continues. :)
