I have had this beautiful, soft, flowy pink fabric for a while now but never could decide what to do with it. I finally decided that project number 2 would be using that up.
Since my pattern stash for Rugrat is at an all time low, I decided another dress was in order. Store bought dresses tend to be problematic because her width is tiny but her length is excessive. I think she can still get into a child's size 12 on most things but often the child's size 16 is pushing modesty in the length. So it's much easier to just make her a larger size dress and add to the length. Which is what I usually do.
So, while I still have to put a small hem in this one (hence the wrinkles) during my tv time tonight, I think it turned out quite well. Despite the fact that it's pretty roomy, Rugrat seems pretty happy with it.
The skirt is very flowy and long. The fabric is also very light. It's perfect for summer.
I did discover another problem I may have though. Rugrat seems to be going through a "I like it long" phase which means I may be adding even more length to her skirts. This is going to be fun.
Next up is some shorts maybe. We'll see :)
