Day 3

If you've ever visited a place that is a tourist area, particularly on a beach, you have most likely seen every variation of miniature golf course there is to see. Several years ago, we accompanied Hubby on a business trip to Virginia Beach and tried miniature golf. The kids liked it at first but didn't care for the length of the course. They were pretty young though. Since then, they've been to Frankie's in Charleston a few times but they never seemed all that hyped about playing. It was just something to do.

So imagine my surprise when they begged to go to one of the MANY themed courses around us. Chick even sat down and called around to get prices and hours of operation while I was showering. This was the one they chose to check out. And I'm really glad we did. We had a blast.

And, once again, since schools in Orlando didn't get out until this week, we had both courses pretty much to ourselves. We ended up doing both because it was a difference of a couple of dollars for one or both.

This one's theme was a combination of dinosaurs and tiki's. Yeah.

I don't know.

But it was fun. And at the end of each course, you got a chance to shoot a hole in one. If you made it, you would set off a volcano and win a free game. We didn't make it either time.

With all those dinosaurs roaming around, it was a little dangerous. A hungry one tried to carry me off.

Fortunately, my fearless children protected me.

By the time we were done, it was pretty warm out. We had to get some sodas before we finished the first course and ended our time there with some popsicles.

For some reason, neither one of them wanted to be the beautiful aloha girl (who danced around next to dinosaurs...?huh) on the board. So I posed as the beautiful girl and let them be the monkeys.

It wasn't too much of a stretch playing a beautiful girl (ahem)...

Nor I imagine for them to play monkeys.

On a side note, I think the Chick may have some of her photographer Granny in her. Dude was using one of our old digital cameras and I told her she could take pictures with mine if she saw something she wanted to photograph since she forgot her camera.

Here are just a couple of her choice shots:
