And probably will be for about 2 more days.
It wasn't the girls. They were actually pretty easy.
But the schedule began at 7:00 am and didn't stop until curfew at 11:00 pm. They did have a long break scheduled in the late afternoon -- I must assume, for the adults who couldn't go another step without a nap.I didn't give in and take one but only because I wanted to be tired enough to sleep in a strange bed in what was a rather spartan dorm room in my opinion.
(Not that I ever had to deal with dorm rooms. I lived at home during my college years. Frankly, I have now come to realize the full extent of my genius in that decision.)
I believe I have shared my love of and opinion about sleep before.
The only problem I had was all me. When the Chick was born, my tailbone was fractured in the process. I never really noticed too much after it healed. It just was very uncomfortable after a long time in a hard chair. I think I must have injured it again a couple of months ago because suddenly "a long time" became about 30 minutes to an hour and every chair was a hard chair (except for maybe one with sofa size cushions). On our Orlando trip I was sorely tempted (no pun intended) (okay maybe a little bit) to go get a donut -- not like Krispy Kreme but like for people who have... ahem... other ailments in that area. It was what I had to sit on while it healed the first time. But I didn't.
For this trip, on the way up, we made a stop halfway there so I was good. No problem.
But stadium seats are not cushioned. Neither are folding chairs or outdoor benches. I probably would have bought one somewhere but I never actually went off-campus and somehow I didn't think they'd have one of those donuts in the Student Union or Bookstore. Maybe the Krispy Kreme kind though. Why didn't I go there again?
So I just dealt with it and figured that at least the van seats were cushioned.
But then we drove ALL the way home. I was tempted to sit on my bed pillow after we got close but I was more interested in the rest room when we stopped and didn't think about it in time.
Tomorrow, however, I will probably limp my way into my Walgreens and find myself one. After all, in a month we'll be heading to Arkansas. That's a little further than Nashville, TN.
