I tried these rolls a few days ago. They were very soft and quite yummy. We had them with some honey butter left over from the Future Christian Homemakers banquet.
I actually cut them into squares rather than shaping them into rounds this time. It was quite a bit faster.
The recipe comes from an ezine (email magazine) that I subscribe to. It's free and I get all kinds of good recipes from it. You can check it out here.
This recipe is designed to be used in a bread machine. If you don't have one, there are conversion instructions here although it is basically mix up the ingredients, knead into a soft dough, and allow to rise about an hour and a half.
I hope you try them out. I plan to make them again and we still have a little more honey butter. If you want to make some honey butter, just mix a little softened butter/margarine with a little honey until you have a nice spreading consistency. Keep any leftover in the fridge. Goes great with these, trust me.
Golden Corral Knockoff Rolls
6-7 oz. milk (3/4 cup or slightly more)
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup warm water
1/4 cup butter/margarine
1 egg
3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 Tablespoons sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons yeast (1 packet)
Place ingredients in bread pan. Select dough cycle. When done, shape into rolls. Allow to rise about half an hour to an hour. Bake at 350 degrees about 10 to 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
