Normally, when I make brownies, I use this recipe which I love. They are fudgy and yummy and full of all the fattening things that make such desserts wonderful. But they dry out very quickly. In fact, if you're not eating them all that day or, at the very latest, the next day, they are nothing like the wonderful brownie that I've come to love. So the other day, I gave this one a whirl.
Yumm---mmeee! They were really good... and they didn't dry out as fast. In fact, they are still great! Of course, I messed with the recipe (the original made a HUGE batch). Check out the original above or try my version below. You won't be sorry.
Foster's Brownies
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup + 8 teaspoons cocoa
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 cup softened butter or margarine
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray a 9x13 pan with cooking spray. Cream in a large bowl eggs, sugar, butter/margarine, and vanilla until blended. In a small bowl, mix together flour, cocoa, and salt. Add flour mixture to butter mixture, mixing in gradually until moistened. Fold in walnuts and chocolate chips. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan. Bake 25 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool. Cut into bars.
