The Sewing Stash Clean Out Continues

In November, I finally decided enough was enough with my sewing area and did a little organizing. You can catch the first part of that story here.

One thing I found once I got everything cleaned out and began to organize it was a few projects I had not finished. So I sat right down and got to work.

One of them was an apron that I had thought I would like but I actually detested once it came together. Hello, donation bag.

Some of the others were repairs or remodels that needed to be done. For instance, a dress of Rugrat's that I had made only a few months prior was suddenly well above her knees. Seriously, those long legs of hers that just keep growing are killing me. I still had plenty of the fabric to make a very long ruffle to add to the bottom. Bada bing. One of her dresses just got a longer life.

I think it turned out quite cute.

Another dress I had just made for her had long ruffles on the sleeves. I thought it was beautiful and very princess like. She didn't like the seam in the sleeve though and wanted them gone. So I waved my magic wand over the course of an evening and changed it to an elbow length with no ruffle. Which she loved! And has worn multiple times since.

Despite the fact that she has not been in girl scouts for over a year, I still had two of her kerchiefs she had earned sitting there. I had promised to make the colorful squares into something for her but never had. So I made the smallest one into a tote bag and she got a new bed pillow from the largest one.

I also had fabric and a pattern that Chick had purchased and wanted made into a dress. Although she had planned to make it herself, she had not had time. I had kind of said I might make it when she kind of hinted she wouldn't mind if I did. So I tackled that one next. It was a little challenging for her skill level so I am guessing she would have gotten frustrated. I got that way some myself. But I didn't mind patting myself on the back when it was done. Another check mark on the list.

That cleaned out most of the old projects. Now for a few new. That fabric bin is still bulging.
