"If you think you’re too small to make a difference, try sleeping in a room with a mosquito." Every African knows this is true because mosquitoes carry malaria—a tropical disease that kills over 750,000 children each year. That’s one child every 30 seconds. In Africa, mosquitoes make a huge difference in the lives of poor families and children. And it all starts with a tiny bite.
Malaria kills more in Africa the HIV Aids. Compassion has an effort going right now for people who can't commit to sponsor a child but feel led to help out. A one-time donation of $10 will buy a mosquito net for a sleeping area. This is one of the best ways to help prevent malaria. The effort is known as Bite Back. They have an interesting video at the Bite Back site. You can also check out these blogs about the effort here and here.
