A Noise in the Night

It is almost 2:00 in the morning.

I can't sleep. My brain won't turn off.

So I sit here in the dark tapping on the keys creating the final lessons for the Chick's school year.

A moment ago, I heard a strange noise. I looked around but there is nothing here in our living room. I'm still a little creeped out. But I'm a grownup for cryin' out loud.

So like a grownup for crying out loud, I turn back to the computer and decide to ignore it. But...

As I reach for the keys, I think "This is the part where the alien eats the girl in the movie."

So I sit here in the light of the table lamp tapping on the keys creating the final lessons for the Chick's school year.
