Monday's Menu

Happy Memorial Day!

Although it means a lot more than that, a lot of people consider Memorial Day the start of the summer. And you know what that means...

the pool is open.
the weather is warmer finally.
camping.
and of course grilling out.

The word cookout is almost synonymous with several summer holidays including Memorial Day. So here are some of the things we like to have at our cookouts. And will probably have today.

Everybody has their preference for the meat on the grill. Side dishes are usually where the snag is. However, you can use Fajita Seasoning mix or Garlic Butter to flavor any of the meats.

This salad is very good. I took it to a gathering recently and I think it was the first time this particular friend had asked for the recipe for anything even though she always loves anything I bring.
This salad recipe from last Memorial's Day is also really good as a grill accompaniment.
You could also make a Potato Casserole or have Twice Baked Potatoes.
Another good side is Macaroni and Cheese. And the kids would think you were awesome.
For a cool and creamy dessert, nothing beats a Four Layer Delight.
Or possibly a Key Lime Pie.
Or Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cookie Bars if you want a dessert can grab and run around the backyard with.

Whatever you make, have a great day spending time with your family and friends. Celebrate the start of summer.
And remember those who made and make it possible to have the freedom to do so.
