Emily is currently known by another name in her orphanage in China. A few weeks ago, we spotted her file on our agency's website and requested information about her. Within a couple of days, we sent our Letter of Intent to Adopt out.
Yesterday, I received notice of our pre-approval in China. And now, we begin the process of getting her home. The next item we receive from China should be a travel approval hopefully.
We had intended to name our daughter Danielle (as many of you probably know by now) but when I saw her face, she didn't look like a Danielle to me. That may be because she's old enough to have her own personality but also probably because Danielle will always be a baby to me. Hubby agreed though and we settled on Emily Noelle.
Emily will turn 3 in December. She has a nystagmus (involuntary movement of the eye). We researched it and even spoke to someone who has nystagmus. We all feel pretty well like we know what to expect with that.
She was brought to her orphanage at just over 4 months of age. To me, that speaks of a birth mother who tried very hard to keep her for all that time and finally realized she couldn't care for her. She looks so sad in the one baby picture we have.
We're all very excited! We can't wait to get her home.
Feel free to rejoice with us.
