The Rugrat did very well with her exam under anesthesia. I was really scared about it. I was so afraid she would have a reaction to the anesthesia and end up in crisis. Putting her to bed on Monday night brought me to tears. I am beyond glad to have it done.
There was an issue with her eyes. She has a condition called aniridia, in which she has no iris in her eye. Click on the link to find out more. While that isn't as big a deal, all the conditions associated with it are. She may or may not develop anything more. That's what I'm praying for anyway.
I feel good about our eye doctor. He's all about making sure that every base is covered.
Our next step is an abdominal scan to check for Wilm's tumor and a genetic test to find out if her aniridia is genetic (what we want) or sporadic (which will put her at risk for Wilm's). Once the genetic test is completed, we will be able to put that particular issue to rest.
Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts as we tackle this thing.

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Galatians 6:9
