Something for me

I began to notice that I have a lot of little bits and pieces of fabrics as I looked through my stash. I'm really not much of a quilter so I think I probably need to find something to do with them.

I have been meaning to make a new tote for church to carry the odds and ends that I somehow end up with or like to have with me. So I decided that some of those pieces might make a good one.

I realized that I had plenty for the outside but not enough to line it. While the pattern didn't call for lining this bag, I really wanted to. Especially because I had ironed on fusible interfacing to make it a little stronger. So I just used one of my solid colored fabric pieces to line it.

While I had used this pattern before, I had never put in the zipper top and I'm not sure I had put on the pocket either so it was a little new.

It turned out quite well though.

It felt a little diaper baggish to me though. But I liked it enough to be happy with it though.

So, I hung it up on the hook to await next Sunday.

Until...

I decided to use this fabric to make one with no pocket or zipper. It is definitely more my style.

So, it is now my new 'church' bag.

And on with the summer sew now. :)
