Rugrat got her second birthday party invite a few weeks ago. I didn't mention it to her at the time because we were going to be out of town that weekend. However, after rethinking it, we decided to stay here last weekend and go visiting this weekend.
In addition to starting out with our anniversary on Friday, last weekend was also the Czech Festival (and, had we had opportunity to go, a special Farmer's Market at the fairgrounds as well as another Lowe's Build n' Grow session) and it happened that her little friend's birthday party was that Saturday as well.
This weekend, we'll only be missing the free baseball/softball training camp some men at our congregation are doing. Hubby was mainly going to be a corral-er if he had gone so he's okay with missing out on that experience.
She had a harder time letting go of the gift this time but still didn't put up too much of a fuss. It was a terribly sparkly "Belle" barbie doll. It had waves of glittered fabric running down the skirt so who can blame Rugrat for wanting that.
Then there was the silver sparkly bag we found at Dollar Tree. Oh my!
Rugrat knows her birthday will be coming up soon (in a month and a half) and she kept asking if it was our turn to open presents after Bella finished. When she finally got the message about that, I think she decided she would settle for taking home the sparkly bag.
She accepted that we were not. And to confirm it, she asked me several times this week about the 'sparkly bag' checking that it was indeed 'for Bella.' I'm afraid so, sweetheart.
Finding out that she got to take home her princess wand craft she put together though almost made it better. The goody bag full of sparkly rings and necklace did make it better.
The strawberry cupcake did hurt anything either.
