You've Still Got Time
to make a few of these for Valentine's day.
Super easy to do (just a little time consuming cutting out those hearts).
I made these for an event this Sunday. I didn't think to take a pic until we were in the car headed to church so you'll have to imagine how cute they are without the plastic bag around them. And trust me, they were very cute!
These really are easy to make. The sugar cookie dough can be done entirely in the mixer. Chill it a bit while you get your surface ready (I almost never chill it as long as the recipe calls for). And then go to work.
The sugar cookie recipe is here. The 'frosting' is Royal Icing. It gets hard when you leave it out to air dry. These didn't get completely hardened however because I put them in containers before I went to bed. So they stayed slightly soft in the centers.
You pipe out a border, thin it with some water, then fill it in by either squirting more inside the border or spreading it gently out. You can find a recipe for Royal Icing here.
