As we came in, we were assigned a 'table' in a colored section. The color represented the knight for whom you would be cheering. Ours was the green knight; hence, our green crowns. We had to be properly adorned as the nobles we were, you know.
Check out this noble lady and her very tall escort. Unfortunately, he proved to be rather full of hot air.
Of course, each knight has a personality. Wouldn't you know it, our green knight was a villain. We ended up rooting for the bad guy. I'd like to think that's out of character for us.
Check out our rogue in action. Sometimes it was hard not to root for him. This does have sound so if you're in an office, you may want to turn it down and adjust as you need.
It was something we had been wanting to do for a while but the cost was somewhat prohibitive. We all had a great time and made a lot of memories.
Perhaps my favorite memory of the evening came as we were leaving. They had a "meet and greet" with the knights and royalty after the feast and tournament. We met our villain hero and he signed out green flag for us.
As the Dude turned to leave, he told the knight, "You were really awesome out there, dude." I glanced back in time to see the man grin real big and blush just a little. I had to chuckle to myself as I imagined him sharing that with the actors in the locker room before they left. I know of no man who wouldn't enjoy getting comments like that from a young boy. I mean, what level of awesomeness do you have to achieve to receive praise from a 10 year old boy? Little boys aren't impressed by a powerful board room presentation or achieving a deadline. But sword fighting and jousting -- well, can you blame them? I wonder how he would have felt to know that the Dude wished he had beaten the good guy in the car on the way home.

Maybe he wasn't such a bad guy after all.
By the way, if you're interested in going to Medieval Times, sign up on their website to receive emails. We got a great deal and paid half the $200 it would have cost for all four of us at regular price. They'll let you know when they have a good deal going. And they've had quite a few lately.
