was last Saturday (the 4th) and Chick got all set and went. She apparently had a GREAT time! I wasn't really sure how it would go so when she stayed until it was over, I figured things were going well.
For several of these kids, this was the first time they had really gotten to meet and hang out with their class -- one of the downfalls of virtual school is that everyone is spread all over the state rather than in the same subdivision (by the way, that's also one of the good things about it too -- I'm not sure I'd want them hanging out with some of these people).
I'm perfectly fine with her hanging out with the kids in her school though. From what I can tell from online groups and such, they are all pretty cool and so are their parents.
She found a few new friends though and even plans to hang out with one of them this week. And she got to meet several teachers. She also wasn't the only one going stag either, which was nice.
