The lady in charge showed us a lot of animals and talked about important things like habitat, environment, shelter needs, and diets
In fact, when she asked if anyone knew what a "diet" meant, Rugrat blurted out to me loudly (in a voice that carried across the auditorium room) -- "I know what that is. It's soda!" That was followed by laughter across the room and even the lady had to chuckle.
After shaking my head in my hand, I looked up to find a thumbs up from our troop leader who thought it was great.
Later, we all went out back and made a treat for the birds -- a sweet gum ball covered in lard and rolled in seeds.
It was a fun time for all our Daisy's. But getting them to all stand still and look at a camera was a little more difficult.
The program fee included entrance to the zoo so of course we had to go check out Rugrat's favorite animals.
By the time we got home, we were ready for a more substantial lunch than the snack of french fries and a slurpee that we shared at the zoo.
It was a pretty good first go around as patch earning programs go.
