Graduation Weekend

Last weekend was a busy, busy time for us.

On Friday, it began with the arrival of my mom and brother and sister-in-law. We hung out and enjoyed each other's company for the rest of the evening after enjoying some steaks Hubby had cooked up for everyone. I actually wouldn't mind having had a few more of those evenings. We rarely get to do that as a family -- just hang out and enjoy each other.

Then, bright and early Saturday morning, we hopped in the car for a trip to Tulsa where we enjoyed this:

Chick was really nervous during her speech but it was personal to the graduates and didn't have any of the tired cliches that the valedictorian quoted. It even included a Dr. Suess quote. So we all agreed hers was better.

My brother and his wife had to leave then. He had his own Senior Sunday to deal with as youth minister the next day and Tulsa is a little closer than Oklahoma City to Little Rock. Even so, I think it's pretty awesome that he came.

The next morning, we made it to the church by 8:00 am for the Senior Breakfast.

Many people had left gifts and cards for Chick by her board.

Despite a few snags here and there, we enjoyed the morning. Later, the seniors put on their caps and gowns to enter worship together after everyone got settled.
That evening the celebration continued during service.

Although Chick protested a little about all the 'to-do' and fuss, I think she liked it a little too. And she didn't mind that it was reason enough for Granny to hang around either.

Now just to finish this last week of school and summer is here!!
