Nut Butter

The other day, I decided to give almond butter a try. Nut butters are a neat thing to make on your own. It just requires a LOT of time (like 12 minutes or so) in your food processor or a machine specifically made to create them (like Champion juicers for example).

This is about halfway through the processing.

The most popular of nut butters is, of course, peanut butter but hazelnut is pretty well known -- like Nutella -- and you can also buy other kinds. I do know someone who makes their own peanut butter (which is pretty cool) using the same method.

This was the first time I have ever tried it. It turned out really well. I added some honey and a pinch of salt when it was done pulverizing the stuff and I thought it tasted pretty good.

So I was quite of myself for trying something new. And almonds are better for you and your heart so maybe it will catch on with the rest of the fam.
